Sponsored by:

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada above 6,000 feet, from late tonight through late Wednesday night.

Total snow accumulations of one to four feet is likely above the 7,000 foot elevation.

Winds may gust as high as fifty-five mph.

Periods of light to moderate snow will continue from Thursday into Friday. The snow levels are forecast to lower into the Mother Lode’s foothills.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
