Update: Power Outages Remain In Mother Lode
Update at 7:20p.m.: There remains around 2,000 customers in the Mother Lode without power since the wicked weather blew through the region this week. Most of the 1,100 outages in Tuolumne County are in the Phoenix Lake, Crystal Falls, Groveland and Buck Meadow areas. The utility is hoping to restore most of the power this evening, but has posted an estimated  4 p.m. Friday time for some along Highway 108.
In Calaveras County, about 1,000 customers stretching from Mountain Ranch to West Point still have no lights. The company relays that once again crews will continue working through the night to restore power.
Original post at 6:15 a.m.:Â Sonora, CA — The freezing overnight temperatures, combined with the recent precipitation, have left many roads very icy again this morning.
Because of this, there are numerous school delays this morning. Also, some schools are cancelled due to no power. Click here to view the latest list, and make sure to refresh the page throughout the morning as it will be updated as additional information comes into the news center.
Power outages remain scattered all throughout the Mother Lode region. At its peak, there were over 25,000 without power in the two county region of Tuolumne and Calaveras. There are still over a thousand without power in both counties. PG&E continues to work today in effort to make full restoration.
