Caltrans Plans, Beginning Nov. 13

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — While the weekend looks blissfully clear from Caltrans cone zones, beginning Monday night overnight paving crews will be generating more 15-minute delays in Tuolumne County.

Most of the work is focused on Highway 49/108 from Highway 120 to Draper Mine Road from 8 or 9 p.m. nightly until 5 or 6 a.m. Friday morning. Too, look for overnight striping to delay traffic between Highway 120 and Peaceful Oak Road and between Via Este and Peaceful Oak roads.

Daytime striping plans on Highway 49/108 every weekday will cause ten-minute waits between Chicken Ranch Road and 108 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. On Monday and Tuesday only along Highway 49, drainage work may create brief traffic hiccups between the Mariposa/Tuolumne County line and Jackass Gulch Bridge from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

On Highway 120 expect weekday delays of ten minutes between West Sprague and Cherry Valley roads while crack sealing work is underway, The 24/7 backups continue for another week or so at the James E Roberts Bridge by Lake Don Pedro as crews work to hopefully wind up that year-plus long project before Thanksgiving, as recently updated here.

Calaveras Cone Zones

Highway 4 will have its share of ten-minute traffic stops to test motorists’ patience. Monday and Tuesday they are likely at Stallion Way in Angels Camp during shoulder work planned from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. On Wednesday and Thursday delays are probable between Cedar Lane/Meadowview Road and Arnold Byway as a utility crew works that zone from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

On Highway 12 anticipate ten-minute stack ups in the vicinity of Double Springs Road Wednesday and Thursday during shoulder work from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. On Friday the delays move to between North Fork Calaveras River and Highway 49.

Traffic signal work at Gee Lane and County View Drive every weekday in Valley Springs from 6 until 10 a.m. will snarl motorists for about ten minutes at a time. From Tuesday through Thursday there will also be a utility crew working between Winton Road and Niderost Lane from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., wreaking similar impacts.

In San Andreas, utility work on Highway 49 in the vicinity of Pool Station Road will stall traffic Monday and Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. during which time travelers should prepare to sit for up to ten minutes.
