Sonora, CA – Look for construction delays night and day this week due to Caltrans plans with some work setting up before weekend’s end.

On Highway 49, more overnight grinding and paving is planned Sunday night through Friday morning between the Tuolumne/Calaveras County line and Angels Creek from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., likely creating ten-minute traffic stops. Also look for utility work Monday through Wednesday along the shoulders between Stanislaus Avenue and Lee Lane from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.; Monday and Tuesday the work may generate ten-minute delays from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. between Treat Avenue and Gold Oak Road.

Along Highway 4, scheduled work will trigger ten-minute traffic delays in three locations. Overnight work beginning Monday overnight between the Old Highway Connector at the end of the bypass and Davis Ranch Road will have crews grinding and paving from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Friday morning; bridge work between Murphys Grade Road and Angels Creek Bridge through the same period will run from 6 p.m. until 9 a.m. Weekdays from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. drainage work continues as part of a broader improvement project between Upper Moran Road and the Big Trees Park entrance.

Too, traffic signal work on Highway 26 continues in the overnight between Gee Lane and County View Drive, possibly causing ten-minute delays Sunday night through Friday morning from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m.

Tuolumne County Traffic Waits

On Highway 108 anticipate ten-minute travel interruptions every weekday between Lyons Dam Road and Bonanza Drive from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. while crews attend to work along the shoulders.

Along Highway 120 on Old Priest Grade, guardrail work every weekday may cause momentary traffic snarls from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Utility work planned weekdays between the Chinese Camp railroad crossing and Perricone Road from 6:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. is not expected to generate any travel delays but be alert for crews within the cone zone.

With no overnight closures planned this week, renovations at the James E Roberts Bridge by Lake Don Pedro continue to cause 224/7 ten-minute delays under automated traffic controls in place at both ends of the span.
