Caltrans Work Week Begins Sunday
Sonora, CA — By Mother’s Day night Caltrans crews will be back at work along the Mother Lode highways.
Overnight work beginning Sunday in Tuolumne County focuses on continued guardrail improvements along Highway 49/108 through Saturday morning that will potentially create traffic waits of up to ten minutes from 9 p.m. until 6 or 7 a.m.
Here are the locations: between Highway 49 and Old Wards Ferry Road; between Harvard Mine and Rolling Hills roads; between Columbia and Pesce ways; Heliport Road and Snowwhite Ridge Drive. Too, from 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. a crew will be working on Highway 108 between east of the county dump road and Twain Harte Drive.
Other Tuolumne Travel Delays
On Highway 49, anticipate ten-minute stalls daily between Poppy Hills Drive and Melones Court during shoulder work from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. By Simms Road a shoulder closure on Thursday and Friday for utility work may momentarily stall traffic at times between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Striping operations along Highway 108 Monday through Thursday under a moving closure between Soulsbyville and Kennedy Meadows roads may bring travelers to a halt for ten minutes at a time between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Along Highway 120, although no overnight closures are planned this week, anticipate the customary 24/7 ten-minute waits on either side of the James E Roberts Bridge by Lake Don Pedro as work continues on the span. Also on Highway 120 utility work may also wreak ten-minute delays between Chinese Creek and Simms Road on Thursday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Every weekday sweeping operations, under a moving closure between Red Hill Road and Groveland, should not create more than brief travel hiccups from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Calaveras Cone Zones
More overnight work Sunday through Friday along Highway 4 is slated, where striping between Murphys Grade Road and Angels Creek Bridge will be applied from 6 p.m. until 10 a.m. Expect travel delays there of about ten minutes. Similar waits are in store every weekday along Highway 4 during pavement operations between Upper Moran Road and the Big Trees Park entrance from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Remember the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee Youth Parade Thursday through downtown Angels Camp, which will require Caltrans to conduct a full closure of Highway 49 between Highway 4 and Murphys Grade Road from 10 until 11:30 a.m.
Along Highway 12, Monday through Saturday, crews will be attending to several chores in the Burson Road areas from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., which may generate ten-minute traffic stack-ups.
