There are many events planned for the first weekend of March.

Tomorrow is the Charlie Rodriguez Memorial Crab & Shrimp Feed at the Sonora Elks Lodge.

On Saturday, at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, homeowners can find out what their options are regarding funding for cutting down dead trees. As reported here the Tuolumne County Office of Emergency Services will host a free Tree Mortality Community Workshop on Saturday, March 4th in the Manzanita Building at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Next weekend the fairgrounds will be transformed for the Celtic Fair.

On Saturday there will be a walking tour of Murphys by the Old Timers Museum. For a more strenuous hike join the Table Mountain Trek put on by the Bureau of Reclamation and hosted by Park Ranger Mike McGraw.

This Saturday is the Tuolumne County Master Gardeners Open Garden Day. The event is free and the Demonstration Garden is open from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with presentations on Seed Starting, Spring Vegetable Planting and Hands on Grape Pruning starting at 10:30 am. Enjoy Music Through The Ages put on by the Mountain Youth and Community Theatre: MYACT, in  Sonora.

The event is a fundraiser to support The Curtis Creek Mustangs through a Lip Sync Battle, 80’s Costume Contest and food for sale. Ticket prices and more details are here.

Sister Act continues performances at the Sierra Repertory Theatre, and Murphys Creek Theatre is performing The Elephant Man by Bernard Pomerance.

Badges & Hoops is this Saturday evening at Summerville High School. The Basketball games showcase Tuolumne County Special Olympic Athletes vs. Law Enforcement and Firefighters. The event raises funds for the Tuolumne County Special Olympic program.
Catch the 7th Annual Crab Feed at Rail Road Flat Community Hall

A Murder Mystery Speakeasy Soiree will benefit Jamestown School Student Activities. The event will be held at The Hotel At Black Oak Casino.

The Tuolumne County Amateur Radio & Electronics Society (TCARES) is hosting a Radio Communications Class for beginners. Details on the Saturday event are here.

Sunday at the Angels Camp Museum a lecture will be given about the California’s Sole Trader Act of 1852. Details about the era will be discussed such as California’s first Constitutional convention in 1848 discussing statehood, and the legislative sessions that addressed the Foreign miner’s tax and authorized a married woman the right to transact business under her own name, separate from her husband.
