Caltrans Plans Beginning Sunday, Feb. 5

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA – Weather permitting, of course, Caltrans plans a handful of cone zones for Mother Lode highways this week.

Beginning Sunday, plan for ten-minute waits along Highway 120 that will continue every weekday along Highway 120 between Forest Road and the South Fork Tuolumne Bridge from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Workers will be attending to slope repairs along that stretch in between the passing storms.

The ongoing overhaul of the Highway 120 James E. Roberts Bridge at Lake Don Pedro continues. However this week, overnight closures of the span will not resume until Wednesday night, due to projected inclement weather. Generally the overnight closures run Sunday through Thursday nights from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. Daytime delays continue to last about ten minutes, as the bridge remains under one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Along Highway 49 more drainage work between Highway 120 and Bear Valley Road is slated Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. However it is not expected to cause travelers more than a few minutes of traffic interruptions.

Calaveras Cone Zones

Along Highway 4, tree crews returning Monday will be working every weekday between Batten Road in Vallecito to Meko Drive in Camp Connell, which is likely to create more ten-minute traffic waits.

On Highway 26, tree work Monday through Saturday, planned between Highway 49 at Mokelumne Hill and the Calaveras/Amador county line from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. may also bring momentary delays.

Additionally, along Highway 49, utility crews may generate some brief traffic hiccups Tuesday through Friday between Gun Club and Mayo roads from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
