TCBC Calls For Action From Local Leaders

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Business Council is keeping a close eye on the City of Sonora’s efforts to widen the Mono Way and Greenley Road intersection.

It is the focus of a new myMotherLode.com blog authored by TCBC President Glenn Caldwell. You can read it here.  A main focus of the blog is the planned land acquisition (Corner Gas) at the Mono Way and Greenley Road intersection. City leaders have stated that they plan to have the intersection expanded prior to the opening of Sonora Regional Medical Center’s new Cancer Center being constructed at the former Andy’s site.

We reported earlier this week that the city has hired an engineering firm to design the intersection improvements, with the goal of construction to begin in late winter or early spring of 2017 and completion by next summer. Find that article here. We also reported back in January that there were some concerns voiced by the owner of Corner Gas, Ken Keagy, about the city’s efforts to purchase his property. You can find that earlier article here.
