Bear Valley’s Season Beginning To Wind Down

Sponsored by:

Thanks to a healthy amount of snow, Bear Valley Ski Resort saw some of the largest crowds in nearly five years for the 2015/2016 ski season.

Rosie Sundell, the Director of Marketing of Bear Valley, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

According to Sundell, the season began with an ideal few feet of snow during the Thanksgiving Holiday and the snow continued through the nearly two week Christmas through New Year’s Holiday period. That was the first contributing factor in bringing out record crowds.

Sundell said, “I think that the closeness of our resort, our price point, the great snow and our numerous attractions such as the Family Lodge and Music on the Sundeck, all helped to attract this year´s large crowds. It´s amazing what snow, sun and the desire to ski, can do for business.”

Bear Valley Mountain is winding down with numerous events planned for this weekend. Saturday’s events include pond-skimming, a BBQ, a Brewfest and live music.

The final day of the season will be on Sunday Monday April 10th.

According to Sundell, Bear Valley is in the Stanislaus National Forest and therefore the public is invited to visit the slopes all Summer long. Visitors will find hiking trails, mountain bike trails and perhaps see a few deer and other wildlife.

The Newsmaker of the Day can be heard each weekday morning at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 on AM-1450 KVML.
