Yes Partnership Tackles Issues Facing Youth

The Yes Partnership will hold their annual Holiday luncheon, raffle, and silent auction this Friday at the Black Oak Resort.

Bob White, Yes Partnership Director, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

The sold out luncheon is a major fundraiser to benefit Tuolumne County’s YES Partnership.

The YES Partnership is a community-wide coalition dedicated to supporting Tuolumne County youth and families by preventing suicide, substance, and child abuse. Members include health care professionals, law enforcement, volunteer groups, non-profit organizations, educators, youth-serving organizations, parents and youth leaders from Tuolumne County.

The YES Partnership works collaboratively with local organizations, parents, and teens to create a drug-free and suicide-safe community by increasing protective factors among youth through the following three strategies:
1)Engage youth in leadership opportunities.
2)Support and provide positive adult interaction with youth.
3)Develop youth assets.

White says that current issues are discussed and directly dealt with such as school bullying and threats, substance abuse and other issues facing the local youth.

According to White, “We’ll be kicking off our 30th year of supporting youth and families in Tuolumne County. We don’t know every individual that has been helped by our services and programs but we have met several who have thanked us personally.”
