Local Musicians To Perform At Butte Fire Benefit

Sponsored by:

A group of young local individuals have banded together to create an all day event, which will take place at Ironstone Amphitheater this Sunday from 10 AM til 6 PM. The Phoenix Festival – Rise From The Ashes is a family oriented event with a full lineup of local bands, vendors, and resources.

Calaveras singer Grover Anderson was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

All of the proceeds from this Sunday’s benefit concert will go directly to the Calaveras Community Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund.

According to Anderson, “The youth movement has been working diligently to bring this event to fruition and contribute to this fund because the fire is something that has affected the entire county”.

In addition to the music, attendees will also find a kids zone, plenty of vendors and there will be both silent auction and raffle items. Nearly everyone who is working at this event is volunteering their time. There will also be plenty of food, wine and drinks available.

Some of the locally popular artists and bands performing include Grover Anderson, The Hot Dark, The Little Fuller Band, Risky Biscuits and The Brothers Strong & Co.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 5-12 yrs and children 4 years old & under are free.

As the foundation itself is a nonprofit 501 ( c ) 3, all donations are tax-deductible.

If you are unable to attend the benefit concert but are interested in helping to seed local Butte Fire recovery efforts, you may mail checks to the foundation at PO Box 1436, Angels Camp 95222. Please indicate “DRF” in the memo line of your checks. For more information, call the foundation office at 209 736-1845 or email buttefirebenefit@gmail.com.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVL at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 AM.
