Sidewalk Project To Slow Traffic

Sponsored by:

Jamestown, CA – Motorists will face delays in downtown Jamestown due to work on the sidewalk construction.

Tuolumne County Officials report work will begin on the Jamestown Sidewalk Project starting Wednesday, April 29 and running for approximately two weeks.  Crews will shut down Seco Street between Main Street and Donovan Street from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.  A detour will be in place with signs directing traffic. At night, Seco Street will revert to one lane traffic control between Augusta Lane and the Methodist Church from the hours of 5 p.m. to 6 a.m.

County officials report Taylor Backhoe Service, Inc. is the contractor for the project.  As previously reported, the project involves 30 medallions, similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame being placed along a stretch of sidewalk between Rocca Park and Railtown 1897. The medallions will highlight films shot in Tuolumne County, and individuals or organizations will sponsor them.
