Sonora, CA – Winter brings with it storms, the flu and house fires.  Hear from the experts how to protect yourself this season.  On this weekend’s Mother Lode Views Tuolumne County Road Division Superintendent Ray Ingalls, Cal Fire/Tuolumne County Fire Department Capt. Mike Spear and Tuolumne County Health Officer Dr. Todd Stolp offer tips to prepare and protect against whatever the season brings.  That includes readying your car inside and out, getting a flu shot and keeping up on your defensible space yard work according to Capt. Spear, “Maintaining the 100 foot clearance around their home and ensuring that the vegetation has been removed from the roof or eves is critical.  The 100 foot clearance has been proven time and time again as a good means to protect your home from wildfires…That allows us to be able to get in there and save your home in the event of a wildland fire.”

Mother Lode Views airs Saturday and Sunday morning at 9:30 on AM-1450 KVML.  Mother Lode Views can also be heard Sunday morning at 10 o’clock on 93.5 KKBN and at 9 a.m. on STAR 92.7.
