Election Day Arrives

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — It is election day, and there are several interesting races. The polls opened at 7am in California and close at 8pm.

Hotly contested local races include T.U.D., Tuolumne County Assessor-Recorder, Calaveras County Supervisors, judicial races, and statewide races like Governor.

Find a list of candidates on the myMotherLode.com Elections Page. Turnout is expected to be fairly strong locally, but down statewide, according to Tuolumne County Clerk and Auditor Controller Debi Bautista. She reports that around 9,400 vote-by-mail ballots had been returned to her office as of Monday morning. If you still have a vote-by-mail ballot, it can be dropped off at the Election’s Office, or taken to any polling location.

You can find out about all the local results during live election night coverage on AM 1450 KVML. Learn about how the national results are coming in starting at four o’clock, and local results starting around 8pm. There will also be twice-hourly updates on Star 92.7 and 93.5 KKBN, starting during the eight o’clock hour, and continuing until all the results have been tabulated.

The results will also be updated, as they come in, on the myMotherLode.com Elections Page.
