Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County is moving forward with a recruitment plan for a new Tuolumne County Health Officer.

Dr. Todd Stolp, who started as the county’s Health Officer in 2002, has announced that he will retire in February.

County Administrator Craig Pedro offered Stolp praise at today’s Supervisors meeting, saying, “Todd’s been a friend, he’s been a personal physician, and he’s one of the smartest guys I know. He’s been exemplary as our Health Officer, and there’s no way we’re going to replace all those elements, of Todd Stolp.”

Tuolumne County will accept applications for the Health Officer position through December 3rd. There will be panel interviews with candidates during the middle of December. The Board of Supervisors will then conduct interviews with finalists during the first week of January, and a board appointment is planned for January 20th. The new Health Officer would begin employment on February 8th.
