Drive-by Shooting
Burson, CA – Calaveras County Sheriff’s Detectives are looking for a suspect in a drive-by shooting on Highway 12 near Burson Road.
Investigators say a 21-year-old man was reportedly walking on the shoulder of the highway around 12:45 p.m. when he was shot as a truck drove past him. Deputies responded to a doctor’s office in the Valley Oaks Center where the man was being treated for a single gunshot wound. The victim was later flown to a valley hospital for further treatment of his injuries.
Detectives says the victim believes the gun shot came from a black Ford pickup. However, investigators say there are conflicting reports of the incident by the victim and witnesses.
