Calaveras Crash A DUI

Valley Springs, CA — The CHP reports alcohol played a role in a solo-vehicle wreck on Highway 26. The crash happened Wednesday just after 5 p.m.
The CHP reports 40-year-old Jennifer Colbert of Valley Springs was driving a 2004 Ford Focus eastbound on the highway when she lost control of the car on a curve. The vehicle went off the roadway, through a barbed wire fence, rolled over, and came to rest on the driver’s side.
Colbert was taken by ambulance to Mark Twain Medical Center suffering minor injuries. Once treated, she was arrested for DUI and then booked into the Calaveras County Jail.
