Fowler Trial Pushed Back Again

San Andreas, CA — The trial of the brother accused of killing 8-year-old Leila Fowler has been delayed until late summer.

13-year-old Isaiah Fowler was in a San Andreas courtroom Wednesday for a hearing. As reported earlier, the trial had been set for May 5th and in December the judge pushed back that date to May 19th.

The new trial date is set for August 12th, but the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office says it could be moved up if the judge’s conflicting court schedule is worked out. Also, evidence test results from the lab have not been completed yet. A pre-trial hearing is set for May 6.

Leila Fowler was murdered inside their Valley Springs area home on April 27th, and the autopsy revealed that she died from multiple stab wounds. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office investigation found that the brother and sister were the only two in the home at the time.
