Sonora High Graduate Publishes Her First Book

Sponsored by:

Sonora High School Graduate and Tuolumne County native Heather Stapp has published her first book and will be signing copies this Saturday evening in downtown Sonora.

Stapp, whose maiden name was Montanez, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

A native to Tuolumne County, Stapp now lives in Florida with her Husband and is visiting her hometown this week.

After graduating Sonora High in 2002, Stapp attended Biola University (a Biblical Institute of Los Angeles) majoring in cinema media arts and minoring in biblical studies.

She wrote her first novel, “The Narrow Path” as a work of fiction with a bold Christian theme.

“The story is one of fiction but there are several very real aspects of my life and the lives of people that I worked with in Los Angeles,” said Stapp. “I believe that both Christians and non-Christians will enjoy reading The Narrow Path and finding out what happens with the main character of Hannah.”

Hannah Vanderlin is the main character in the story and she lives in southern California. In the blink of an eye, Hannah’s world maliciously crumbles beneath her feet and it leaves her wounded, hollow, and broken. Desperate for a change, Hannah moves to her hometown of South Lake Tahoe and receives guidance from her grandmother.

Stapp will sign her book at Sun Beams Boutique at 136 S Washington St in Sonora this Saturday from 5 – 8PM. This coincides with 2nd Saturday Arts Night in downtown Sonora.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45am.
