Columbia, CA – You can hear from the candidates who want to become the next President of Columbia College. The five were selected from 32 applicants by the Columbia College Presidential Search Committee. If you want to hear what the candidates have to say, and throw in a few or your own questions, there will be a community forum at the college next Monday.

The search committee was co-chaired by Dr. Melissa Raby, Dean of Student Services, Columbia College and John Leamy, Math Professor, Columbia College. Mr. Stan Arterberry with Ralph, Andersen and Associates conducted the search. The initial interviews were done November 23rd.


The candidate forum will be held Monday, December 2 between 8 am to 6 pm at the college’s Dogwood Theatre at 11600 Columbia College Drive in Sonora. College officials say each finalist will discuss their preparation for the position, education and leadership philosophy. After each candidate speaks the audience will be allowed to ask questions.


The Yosemite Community College District Board will interview the finalists the next day. A decision is expect before the end of the year.
