Yosemite Park Questions

How many times have you been stuck in line waiting to get into Yosemite Park on a busy weekend because the person in front of you had a lot of questions? Or maybe you’ve been the one asking questions feeling guilty about the line of traffic behind you.

Travel to Yosemite got a lot easier and more guilt free this summer via the Highway 120 entrance as the Park Service now has a park ranger based in Groveland. From now through Labor Day weekend visitors can meet with the park ranger between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM, seven days a week.

This is a joint project with support from the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau as well as the Yosemite Chamber of Commerce designed to enhance the visitor experience for everyone coming in to our area.

The Park Ranger’s office is shared with the Yosemite Chamber of Commerce office and Visitor Center at 18653 Highway 120. It is located by Mountain Sage Nursery on the right hand side of Highway 120 as you’re coming in to Groveland from the Yosemite Junction (Highway 108 and Highway 120). It’s right in the heart of town so it’s walking distance to a variety of shops, restaurants and lodging establishments as well.

The park ranger and visitor center staff can help you plan your trip in the park as well as offer suggestions on the many things to see and do outside the park in our Yosemite – Gold Country region; from lodging and campgrounds to recreation and sightseeing. It’s a great place to stop, stretch your legs, have a cup of coffee and get some good advice from the experts on what to see and do – without the lines!

As tourism continues to grow in our area, we’re delighted to have this new service available to visitors and locals alike. The new service will help ensure visitors have a wonderful experience in our area and have the opportunity to tailor their visit to suit their needs.
