Governor Davis Halts Birth Record Sales To Companies

Governor Davis has ordered the Department of Health Services to stop selling state birth and death records to private companies for 45 days.
Davis directed the department to study what information in those records, if any, should be available to third parties. He´s concerned that information on the index could lead to identity theft.
