Sponsored by:

A cold front moving through Northern California today is expected to produce light rain and some mountain snow, a forerunner of some heavier rain and snow expected during the next two days.

Much colder air pushing southeastward from the Gulf of Alaska is expected to produce some heavier rain and snow over Northern California and portions of Central California late tomorrow and tomorrow night. Weather forecasters are cautioning drivers to be careful as the rain mixes with accumulated oil and dirt on roadways.

Significant snow accumulation is possible over the highest elevations of the Sierra Nevada by Tuesday afternoon. The snow level is expected to drop to near 55-hundred feet in Shasta County mountains by late tomorrow, and to 65- hundred feet over the northern Sierra Nevada.
