Pass To Stay Closed

The Sonora Pass along Highway 108 is officially closed for the winter.
Robert Spradling with Caltrans District 10 made the announcement this morning. Recent warm weather in the foothills and lack of rain made the agency toy with the idea of reopening the pass. Spradling says icy conditions at the summit have made the pass unsafe. It will remain closed now through the winter.
