Fire Restrictions Lifted This Morning

Sponsored by:

The summer-long ban on burning will be lifted in the Mother Lode this morning.

The California Department of Forestry announced the lifting of restriction yesterday afternoon. The ban on burning will be lifted at 8 a.m. this morning.

With the end of fire season, seasonal firefighters will be released and CDF aircraft will be demobilized.

Fire officials warn even with increased rains, dry winds can still result in fire danger as ground fuels become dry again.

Glenn Gottschall, acting Stanislaus National Forest supervisor announced fire restrictions in the lower elevations, below 6,500 feet, have been lifted.

Gottschall warned, fire danger is still there in the forest as well, and grass and other fuels are still dry. Burn and campfire permits are still required.

All burning is subject to burn-day, no-burn-day requirements.
