Fire crews were kept running Monday.

Calaveras County units responded to a vegetation fire in the Farmington area along 26-Mile Road and Carter Road around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The fire in Stanislaus County west of Copperopolis was held to one-and-a-half-acres.

Firefighters in West Point kept a grass fire to just 1/2 acre on Stanley Road. That fire was contained around 3:10 p.m.

A fire in the engine compartment of a tree trimmer´s chipper truck sent crews to the 12000 block of Mammoth Mine Road off Jacksonville Road, southeast of Chinese Camp just after 2 o´clock Monday. At a time, the blaze threatened to spread into the wildland, but first units on scene kept that from happening.

Sonora City fire units were called to an extinguished vehicle fire in the parking lot near Applebee´s restaurant Monday afternoon as well.
