California schools have a new curriculum to teach the life and works of the late labor leader Cesar Chavez. State school board officials unveiled the internet-based program Wednesday. It highlights the accomplishments and philosophy of the United Farm Workers chief who died in 1993. The online lesson plan is part of legislation that established
March thirty-first as a state holiday honoring Chavez. The site includes a Chavez biography, writings, speeches and oral histories.
