Commuters who take the campus shuttle at the University of California, San Diego can now experience another benefit of hopping on board: logging on to the Internet.
University researchers Monday demonstrated a new wireless connection that allows riders to check e-mail, surf the Net or download files using laptop computers.
The technology links a wireless local network in the bus with a new wide area network developed by Qualcomm.
