Man Flees After Traffic Stop

An Angels Camp man led Calaveras County deputies on a pursuit after a traffic stop on Murphys Grade Road.
Sheriff´s investigators say 47-year-old Russell Pacheco was stopped for expired car registration. When asked to get out of his vehicle, Pacheco sped away and lead deputies on a pursuit to his residence on the 100 block of Dog Town Road.
When he tried to escape on foot, Pacheco was brought down by deputies using a tazer weapon.
Pacheco is being held on $50,000 bail.
