Barn Destroyed In Fire

Firefighters in Calaveras County are battling a barn fire on the 2300 block of Spink Road in West Point near the Amador County line.
Fire officials say the 3,000-square-foot barn was fully engulfed when they arrived on the scene and has sent up a large column of black smoke. Firefighters at one point ran out of water fighting this fire. The blaze had spread into the surrounding grass. A helicopter is being used to extinguish the grass fire.
