A Pacific storm with strong winds is expected to produce up to 18 inches of snow at some upper elevation Northern California mountains tomorrow into Thursday.

The National Weather Service at Sacramento has issued a winter storm watch for the west slope of the Northern Sierra Nevada for tomorrow and tomorrow night.

At lower elevations of the Mother Lode there are chances of rain today and tomorrow into Thursday. The snow level will remain quite high even for this second, stronger storm, generally above the 65-hundred foot level.

Dry weather returns by this weekend.
