Mountain Ranch Man Held On Felony Arson Charges

A Mountain Ranch man faces felony arson charges following an incident back in December.
The Calaveras County Sheriff´s office says Anthony Abel was seen fleeing the scene when two mobile homes went up in flames on December 7th. He was arrested this past Sunday.
Thirty-nine-year-old Abel allegedly admitted to several people that he deliberately set the fire. The owner of one of the mobiles told police that Abel said he set the fire because he was angry with the resident and felt that the trailer was “possessed by spirits.”
Abel was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on $110,000 bail.
