Sponsored by:

Lawyers for 5 indicted San Francisco police commanders have asked a judge to dismiss the charges.

The officers are accused of obstructing an investigation into three rookie cops who allegedly attacked two men in November. Lawyers for Lieutenant Ed Cota, Deputy Chiefs Greg Suhr and David Robinson, Captain Greg Corrales and Sergeant John Syme filed their motions today. A hearing is set for April 4th. They have all pleaded innocent.

A grand jury also indicted Police Chief Earl Sanders and Assistant Chief Alex Fagan Senior on the same charges, but the district attorney dropped them. The 3 rookie officers accused in the alleged attack face felony assault charges. One of those officers is the son of the assistant police chief.
