SF Cops Can´t Wear Old Glory

Sponsored by:

Police officers in San Francisco have been told they can€™t wear American flags on their helmets or hats. The directive came after several people complained about the red, white and blue bandanas that some officers wore during a support-the-troops rally over the weekend.

The opponents say the patriotic headgear “intimidated” them and therefore infringed upon their right to express anti-war views. In issuing the policy, Assistant Chief Alex Fagan said it was inappropriate for officers to wear any kind of symbols on their heads, whether they are peace symbols, swastikas or Old Glory.
