Sponsored by:

A wildfire burning in the Fresno County foothills is about 80 percent contained, but people who live in the area are not yet being allowed back to their homes.

The blaze has grown to 70 acres, and is burning about ten miles east of Shaver Lake, a popular recreation area. California Department of Forestry spokeswoman Karen Terrill says about 15 people in the Auberry and Prather area left their homes voluntarily this morning. No homes are currently being threatened. One person has been injured and taken to a hospital. Details about the injury weren´t available.

Forty-five engines, four hand crews, three helicopters and 300 firefighters are on the scene. Fire officials hoped to have the blaze fully contained by 6 p.m. Thursday evening.
