Fatal Hit and Run

Police investigating a fatal hit and run collision in Downtown Modesto last night.
Officer Rick Applegate says two Modesto men were crossing at the intersection of 18th Street and Burney Avenue when a car traveling northbound struck to pair. One of the pedestrians was killed, the other is in critical condition.
The vehicle was not at the scene when police arrived and there were no indication s the driver attempted to help the injured men. A passer by stopped and called 9-1-1. Names of the victims have not been release yet.
