New Options for Calaveras Higher Ed Students

With Measure E, the Yosemite Community College District Special Bond issue, up for a vote this November, there´s new word that a new option may soon open to Calaveras County Students.

San Joaquin Delta Community College District is aiming to develop a campus, possibly near San Andreas or Valley Springs.

Its still very early in the planning stages, say Delta College officials, but within the next couple of years, they say they´ll look at leasing or purchasing property for new campus facilities.

Meanwhile, the Calaveras County Supervisors have come out in favor of Measure E.

The board had been tied while considering the Measure´s support earlier this month because supervisor Tom Tryon was absent.

Tryon voted to support the Yosemite Community College District Special Bond Measure on Monday.

The measure would provide funds to upgrade facilities at Columbia College, Modesto Junior College, and the College´s Calaveras County facility too.
