Columbia Fire District Gets DHS Grant

Sponsored by:

Congressman George Radanovich has announced the Columbia Fire Protection District has received a grant from the Department of Homeland Security.

It´s called the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, and Radanovich says the money´s meant to improve cooperation between local first responders and the federal government. The money, for Operations and Firefighter Safety, comes out to $74,581.

“Homeland Security has a real need for a good relationship with firefighters and police forces at the local level, so with that in mind, we were able to achieve the grant for Columbia. I think it´s just going to be a great grant for the area to help them prepare for emergency.”

Congressman Radanovich and Senator Charles Poochigian will be joining me this Sunday morning on Mother Lode Views. The program airs at 7am on AM-1450 KVML, at 9am on Star 92.7, and at 10am on Today´s Country 93.5 KKBN.
