No Injuries After Mono Vista House Fire

Sponsored by:

Fire crews responded yesterday to a house fire in the Mono Vista area.

First calls came in just after 6pm, for the 22-thousand block of Longeway Road. The home was nearly destroyed, according to Craig Hart with Tuolumne County Fire, but not all of the news was bad.

“We thought, for a while, that it was possible that they lost their family dog. Around 7:45, their dog Skeeter came running up, so that was a good thing,” Hart said.

This is the second such house fire in two days, and also the second time this week firefighters had to deal with electrical dangers.

“An operational problem we did have was power lines [that went] down at the scene, once again, until PG&E arrived to cut the lines,” Hart explained.

There were no injuries, and Hart says the investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
