Near Drowning In Rail Road Flat

A near drowning this afternoon at Emery Reservoir in Railroad Flat .
Calaveras County Firefighters were called out just before 2 p.m. Monday afternoon to the small lake near the Lakeside Mobile Home Park off Rail Road Flat Road.
Two teenagers were hurt after an apparent leap from a cliff into the water below. One of the youths suffered a hand (not head) injury — the other near drowning
Rescue personnel had difficulty getting to the drowning victim, believed to be a 13 year-old. Firefighters used a boat to get to the north shoreline area were the victim was located.m An air ambulance was called to the scene to transport the youth to a Modesto Hospital. No word on condition of the drowning victim
