Judge Denies Change-of-Plea Request By Olympic Swimmer

A Tuolumne County judge has rejected a motion by a member of the U-S Synchronized Swimming Team to change her no contest plea in a manslaughter case.

Tammy Crow was driving a 12-year-old Danville boy and her boyfriend to a skiing trip near Yosemite National Park last year when she lost control of the sport utility vehicle.

The S-U-V slammed into two large trees, killing Crow´s boyfriend and the young boy.

Prosecutors charged Crow with two misdemeanor counts of vehicular manslaughter and she pleaded no contest.

She is still hoping to compete in the summer Olympics in Athens. Crow said today through her attorney that she will appeal the judge´s decision.
