Farm Groups Pleased with Election Outcome

Statewide results from this week´s election encourage California farm groups which had backed Governor Schwarznegger´s budget reform plan. Both propositions 57 and 58 passed on Tuesday.
The California Farm Bureau said it considered the proposals important tools to help the governor resolve the state´s budget crisis. The Farm Bureau also expressed satisfaction at the defeat of Prop 56, which would have lowered the vote threshold for tax and budget bills from two thirds to 55 percent.
