Man Injured, Crawls For Help After DUI Wreck

Officials say a probable state of intoxication was to blame for a single-vehicle accident Monday night that left a Valley Springs man moderately injured.
22-year-old Jeff Tubolino sustained possible broken ribs, say officials, when he failed to negotiate a curve on Skull Flat Road near Winton Road in the West Point area or northern Calaveras County.
The CHP says he went off the right side of the road and overcorrected, running off the left side of the road and hit a tree.
His 1980 Toyota pickup then rolled about 150 feet down into a steep canyon.
It wasn´t until daybreak Tuesday, officials say, that Tubolino climbed up the hill to a private residence for help.
He was airlifted to Sutter-Roseville Hospital for his injuries.
