Board Of Supervisors Commends County Farm Advisor For Measure “L”

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The man who spearheaded the effort to launch a Resource Conservation District in Tuolumne County has received commendation by the board of supervisors.

At today´s board meeting the supervisors adopted a resolution commending County Farm Advisor Jay Norton for his endeavor in creating the newly formed district.

After receiving the commendation, Norton said the RCD was an idea whose time had come, which is reflected by the support it received from the members of the public that worked on the committee to get it passed.

He called the group a “very strong committee who knew what an RCD was and what it would do for the county.” He also told the board members that he thinks they´ll be glad it passed.

The final step in forming the RCD is for the board to adopt a resolution declaring the district as duly organized, and to submit a copy of that resolution to the County´s Local Agency Formation Commission.

Creation of the district was passed by the county´s voters in the November 8th election by a 17% margin.
