Thousands Turn Out For 22nd Annual Downtown Christmas Parade

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Holiday season is officially underway in the MotherLode.

Last night thousands of spectators lined the streets to take in the 22nd annual Sonora Downtown Christmas Parade.

Sixty-seven entrants filed down Washington Street in front of a cheering crowd all decked out for the holidays.

Miss Tuolumne County was on hand to wish spectators a happy holiday season, as was the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Posse.

Bringing up the rear was Santa and Mrs. Claus riding in the traditional Christmas carriage.

The parade was the first of three to be held this season. Next weekend the parade kicks off in Twain Harte Friday night, followed by the Angels Camp parade on Saturday.
