Harvest Festival Planned For Hurricane Relief

Tuolumne, CA — The Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians and Black Oak Casino are planning a fundraiser this weekend to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The “Country Harvest Festival for Hurricane Relief” is scheduled for this Sunday form 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the tribe´s West Side property on Tuolumne Road.

The festivities will be headlined by a concert by country artist Mark Wills and others. A full barbecue picnic is also planned.

Organizers say a significant amount of the proceeds will go to the hurricane relief effort in the gulf coast region.

Tickets are $20.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids. They can be purchased at several area merchants, including Village Tunes in Twain harte, Mother Lode Bank in Sonora, Pure Cowboy in Sonora, Smoothie City in the Junction Shopping Center, Buckworth´s Western Wear in Oakdale, Let´er Buck in Jamestown and the Gift Basket at Black Oak Casino.
