Prosecutors Given More Time To Review Documents In Terror Probe

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — Government attorneys have been given another three months to review documents in their case against a Lodi man and his father charged in connection with a terror investigation.

The ruling by a Sacramento federal judge came over the objections of defense attorneys who argued that prosecutors should have reviewed the thousands of pages of potentially classified documents before charging Umer Hayat and his son, Hamid Hayat.

Hamid Hayat is charged with providing material support to terrorists by attending an al-Qaida training camp last year. His father Umer Hayat, is accused of lying to the FBI to protect his son. Both sides were ordered to return for a status hearing on January sixth.
