Family Members Continue Search For Missing Nevada Woman

Sonora, CA — Family members of a missing Hawthorne, Nevada woman are holding out hope that she will be located, despite a suspension in search efforts by authorities.

Tuolumne County search and rescue officials have scaled back search efforts for 64-year-old Nita Mayo who has been missing since last Monday.

Meanwhile family members along with several local residents continue to scour the area around the Donnel Vista overlook where Mayo´s car was located Wednesday evening.

Authorities say Mayo´s purse along with her identification and credit cards was located in the car, but her camera and keys were not.

Investigators are planning to focus on the car for clues today.

Anyone with information in the disappearance is urged to call the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department.
