County Officials To Speak At Advocacy Group Meeting

Sonora, CA — Two county officials will speak at the general membership meeting of an organization calling itself a smart advocacy group this week.

Fourth District County Supervisor Mark Thornton and General Manager Gary Egger of the Tuolumne Utilities District will address a meeting of the group Voters Choice Thursday.

Thornton will present a speech entitled “Change is Inevitable Not Growth,” while Egger will discuss the impact that growth has on utilities and infrastructure.

County Agricultural Advisor Jay Norton will also be on hand to answer questions on establishing a county resource conservation district, which is an issue that is expected to be on the November election ballot.

The meeting is scheduled for August 11th at the Sonora Elks Lodge.
