Tuolumne County Supervisors To Decide On Blue Mountain Minerals

Columbia, CA — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors is expected to make decision tomorrow on an appeal of a recent decision by the Columbia Area Planning Commission.
The Board will decide whether to grant a request by Blue Mountain Minerals to combine operations of its two quarries under one conditional use permit for the next 50 years.
Also at issue is a request by the company for an increase in its production levels and an extension in the mine´s hours of operation.
Opponents believe the increases will mean more truck traffic and higher noise levels.
The issue is scheduled to come before the board at 1:00 tomorrow afternoon at the church of the 49er in Columbia.
